My Grandma died last Friday. She was 94. I was actually supposed to travel to Corydon the week she died, but the trip was delayed because she had flu symptoms and we felt we shouldn't bring the boys to see her until she recovered. I regret that I didn't get to see her one last time and that I didn't get to introduce her to Henry, her newest great grandchild. I will miss her a lot. She was a spunky woman with a lot of personality. She was a big flirt and always had a boyfriend, maybe even two. She was witty and very intelligent. She was a classy lady. She loved fashion and shopping, always dressed in a brightly colored skirt with shoes and jewelry to match. She was an independent woman and loved to travel. She was a nurse and was very proud of her profession. And she loved her kids dearly. She wouldn't always show it or express it appropriately, but she loved my Mom and was so grateful for her constant love, attention, and friendship especially during these last several years when she was living in assisted living and the nursing home. I quickly pulled a few pictures from what we had here on our computer, but my Grandma never liked having her picture takes so it was difficult to find any of her actually looking into the camera.
