I'm a little annoyed because I can't put the pictures in the right order. But here's the finished studio!!! I say almost, because I still need to paint another coat on the table, I need to buy window coverings, I need to buy
legs in white for the table from IKEA, and buy a rug. But I love it!! It's everything I wanted it to be. It's inviting, it's inspiring, it's calm, it's personal, and it's all mine!!!! We have moved Matt's 'Man Area' to the back room. I'll take pictures once he cleans it.

I had a hard time trying to figure out how to make Skye a food area that was user friendly AND cute. I tried a side table, but I discovered that Skye needs a larger area to eat from. He knocked the food bowl over with his bucket and made quite a mess, broke the ceramic bowl, and was clearly blushing from embarrassment. I also needed to keep the food at a safe distance from Sage's nose and mouth. I finally decided to use these two file cabinets that we had downstairs. They are the perfect size and we needed the file space anyway. As a bonus, the color blends in with the room quite well. I also want to point out the magazine rack that my Dad and I made several years ago. Still stylish!

I took this picture to show how the room looks when you walk in. I was very worried about the 'entertainment tower' that Matt explained must stay in that location. I thought for sure that we would be forced to buy a flea market cupboard or something similar right away in order to hide the hideous entertainment equipment. But I decided to just paint the wooden boxes (Matt made in law school for his desk) white for time being. And it made a HUGE difference. I don't even notice the ugly black equipment any more. My eye is just drawn to the shelves!

Here is a different view. One of my first projects was framing antique doilies from my Grandma. I love this look! They are simple black frames with the glass both front and back so you can see through to the wall. It's the perfect mix of old and modern. Love it. I had to use these doilies that we snuck out of Mom's house so Grandma wouldn't find out (she has this thing about giving away her goods if she knows somebody actually wants them). The doilies are great, but I hope to find even more family heirlooms with more intricate lace work.

The night we finished painting, Matt made me my ribbon holder. I will probably paint it, but isn't it cute!!!! Now I need more ribbon.

The table top was just a 36 inch door we bought at Lowes for around $20.

Here's my little morning 'check the news/email/blogs' spot. How great is that?!! The teacup and saucer is a gift Linda Brown got me for my 'Bridal Tea' and is filled with pretty little round paper clips that Emily got me at the very same tea. I love it, because it's both funtional and personal. The little container next to the pen vase was a gift from Lauren and inside it has a tiny heart shaped rock Matt picked up for me next to the Green River in Utah. Again, very personal.

I great shot of my inspiration board. This was heaven sent. Matt had it laying around in a storage room at his office! Perfect size and a perfect price (free)!

This picture is to show the great morning light I get throught the windows. I love sitting here in the morning!

And finally, a close up of my ribbon jars, divided by color. These were $3 each at Target.
