I can't believe that Harrison is already three years old. Really. He's a certified little boy now. Not a baby, not a toddler - a little boy. It's crazy. We kept things simple this year and had a little party at home on the Friday evening of his actual birthday, the 9th. He was very excited to have his 'friends' over to his party. He kept mentioning his 'friends', plural. I felt kind of bad, because I didn't think he would really care about friends at this age so we didn't invite friends, just family. Besides who needs more friends when you have Max?! Max and Harrison had a great time. We opened gifts, ate pizza per Harrison's request (he actually asked for strawberry pizza, but we settled for pepperoni), played with toys, ate cake, and played with toys again. It was perfect.
I can't put into words how I feel about my little three year old. I love him so much. He makes me laugh constantly. He surprises me regularly with his ever expanding knowledge and understanding of his world. He is loving and sweet. His energy knows no bounds. He is everything to me. Happy 3rd Birthday, Harrison!

I left this birthday note for Harrison, because he is still asleep when I leave for work in the mornings. |

A few months ago when I asked Harrison what he wanted for his birthday he without hesitation blurted out that he wanted a train cake. I was actually successful this year. |

My Dad used to draw on the wrapping paper of our gifts when we were kids and I loved it, so I asked him to draw Harrison a picture. Isn't it the best?! And coincidentally the only food coloring I had on hand was green! |

Simple decor. Harrison loved it. I almost always tear up when I watch the genuine excitement on Harrison's face during moments like these. His face just lit up when he walked into the room. |

Matt's special request for Harrison's birthday was a train balloon. Harrison loved it, of course. I got wood train whistles for our favor and activity, killing two birds with one stone, but later ditched the plan to paint the train whistle. |

Before our guests arrived we showed Harrison pictures of his first birthday party. The crown he is wearing is the same crown from his first birthday! |

Harrison's unique way of holding up three fingers. |

Ok, I must admit that I cursed as Harrison opened this gift from Andrew, Christa, Emmy, and Rosa. It had 'Over 400 pieces' in huge letters on the outside of the box. However, it turned out to be the most used gift by both Harrison and the adults by far. We all loved it. Harrison has played with it non-stop for days. The only issue being the anxiety attacks he has every time Henry comes anywhere near his track. |
