Sir Smile-a-Lot

Henry is interacting with us a bit more and really smiling a lot these days. And yesterday he laughed. Once. It was brief, but it was definitely a laugh. Matt was there and he agrees. More updates. Henry's head is still really round. His baby acne is still kicking pretty hard. Mainly on his neck, cheeks, chest, and back. We are much more successful with naps now. We are kind of 'crying it out' with Henry already. I know we are mean awful parents, but it seems to work for us and for Henry.  It seems so soon, but I was going insane with the feeling of being attached to Henry and/or Harrison 24/7. Henry prefers being held (although he is beginning to warm up to the idea of the play mat thingy) and breastfeeds every 3 hours. On top of Henry's needs Harrison also requires my attention throughout the day. So to have to rock Henry asleep for each nap and in the evening, sometimes 2 or 3 or 4 times every time he woke himself back up was getting to be too much. So we're crying it out. And really he hasn't cried for longer then 10 minutes maybe 15 before he falls asleep. I don't even think that counts as 'crying it out'. Anyway, napping is going much better. He is also sleeping much longer at night. Last night he slept from 1:30 until 7:00. Pretty good. He is a really loud sleeper, a lot of grunts, snorts, wimpers, etc. Harrison loves giving Henry little kisses on his head and asks about Henry's whereabouts frequently. Henry is losing his hair on the top of his head, leaving a ring of hair on the sides. Very old man in appearance.

We had an amazing holiday season, but we are glad to welcome the new year with a fresh start.
