Henry is 6 weeks old

Henry turned 6 weeks old on Monday this week. I had my follow up appointment as well this week and feel like we have really reached a milestone. It feels good to have these tough 6 weeks down. Henry is starting to smile more often, not a lot, but definitely more often. It's a wonderful big full mouth grin. His head is perfectly round and seems to be much larger then Harrison's was at this age. We have received several comments from people about Henry being a 'large' baby. We'll see at his 2 month appointment in a couple of weeks.

Henry seems to be a bit more demanding and needy then Harrison was. Harrison fussed and had issues when it came to feeding, but beyond that I think he was a pretty good baby. We are having difficulty putting Henry down for naps and down in the evening. Thankfully, he does the best in the middle of the night. He also likes to be held a lot. He's not content to just lay on a blanket or sit in a swing like Harrison was. He likes to suck and requires a pacifier a lot. This gets frustrating especially when Harrison is also requiring my attention. But as Emily keeps reminding me, things will get better.

Henry still poops a lot, but I think less often. That's good news.

Sometimes Harrison likes to help put Henry's pacifier back in his mouth and when it comes out he says, "I missed." Cute.

I only have 6 more weeks of maternity leave, so I'm going to try to soak this special time up and take one day at a time. I may not have this opportunity to be at home with my two small children again.
This beautiful quilt was made for Henry by Emily's mom, Joan. We love it and use it quite often. We use the one she made for Harrison two years ago upstairs and this new one downstairs. Thanks, Joan!

That is a perfectly round head.
