Harrison and I took a last minute trip to Corydon last Friday and had a lovely time with my Mom and Randy. I've had almost zero energy lately and have really been struggling to keep up with my little guy. Matt was turkey hunting all weekend with a buddy and I felt like I needed some extra help, so we headed down South.
On Friday Harrison spent 85% of the day in the car or in a high chair with no naps. So Saturday we decided we needed to get outside and let him burn some energy. Mom took us to the new trail that Randy helped build. It was beautiful. The trail was 1.6 miles long. Harrison walked the entire trail. Is that considered abuse? He did great, until the end. He starting wearing out towards the end. For those of you that care here is the play by play of our little hike.

Harrison stuck close to the trail only veering off a couple of times.

He would point to birds in the trees and then point to his ear, like an old man does when he's trying to hear something.

Bubbe and Harrison looking at the river.

We stopped half way for a snack. The snack being his leftovers from breakfast, we just grabbed his plate and stuck it in a ziplock.

As you can see, Harrison placed some of his food on the dirty wet pavement and then ate from the ground. It was a very 'What would Maryann do?' or 'WWMAD' moment that I had.

We found this beautiful dry rock just beyond the spot that we stopped to eat his snack.

Mesmerized by the geese (or ducks, which is what the lady walking behind us called them).

Luckily the trail ended at the soccer fields where Randy was watching his grandson's game. Randy's son, John, drove my Mom back to our car and then she came and picked us up so Harrison wouldn't have to walk another 1.6 miles back.

We finished our trip with a visit to see Great Grandma Emily. She seemed in good spirits, smiled a lot, and enjoyed seeing Harrison.
