Fun Weekend with Mom!

My Mom came to visit this weekend and we had a wonderful time! We started our visit with lunch at Trulli Flatbread. I suggested Mom order the duck panini. She did not like it. Then we left and mom got a new funky (asymetrical) haircut and I got a pedicure. Later that evening, Matt and Ken joined us for the fun. We all went out to Upland Brewery and had a lovely dinner. (Again, Mom didn't like her meal, nor did Ken, but the beer was fab.) Here's a picture of us goofing around after dinner. I'm showing off my newly painted toes! Ken seems less than pleased that he drove all the way down to Bloomington to be with us.

The next morning Mom and I went to the farmer's market and had breakfast at the bakehouse. Then we picked up some art supplies, a blanket, and some pillows and headed to campus. The weather was PERFECT on Saturday. Just gorgeous. We sat in the sun and let our creative juices flow. It was a lot of fun!
I'm not so good with paints.
How cute is that?
Sometimes we needed help with our creative inspiration. Mom's interpretation of this painting is a man playing guitar who is full of rage (hence the black face).
This one by Mom takes your breath away, doesn't it?!
I didn't know painting could be so active.
Here's a different approach.

Fun day! We had a blast. Thanks, Mom.
