Henry is 6 months old...
...actually, he is 7 months old now, but I meant to get this post done last month and got really behind on things like blogging. And posting a blog about your baby turning 6 months old sounds more organized then doing one about turning 7 months old.
Anyway, I am madly in love with my little Henry. He is adorable and makes me so happy. My heart just swoons when I see his little face and especially when I get to hold him, which is almost all of the time. He is super duper cuddly. I need that affirmation and love. He grabs my face and presses his against mine and squeezes so tightly. It's almost like he gives hugs the way he reaches out his little arms to you and wraps them around your neck. It's the best. But he does like to be held, which gets a bit tiresome. Sometimes I do need my space.
He has the most gorgeous crystal blue eyes and very pale skin. And he does have hair now! Quite a bit, at least comparatively so.
He sits with assistance. He has only rolled from stomach to back. He is close to rolling the other way, but hasn't yet. I think we are close to moving from the Bumbo to the Me, Too. He climbed out of the bouncy seat the other day, so we are done with that.
Henry has started to eat solids. He likes bananas, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, applesauce, yellow squash, but is not so fond of green beans. I think we will try carrots and avocado this weekend. He cries every time we are finished eating. Harrison was always a good eater, too.
Henry makes fun high pitched squealing sounds when he is happy and has recently started saying ba-ba-ba. He has the best little giggle and loves to be tickled on his ribs and feet.
He is really starting to love his baths. He kicks, splashes, and squeals in delight. But the poor guy only gets a bath maybe once a week. Part of the reason he only gets a bath that often is that he often does not take a third nap in the afternoon. So, by the time he eats dinner at 6:00 he is usually pretty cranky and ready for bed by 6:45 or 7:00. No time for a silly bath.
I have really come to enjoy our bedtime ritual. It's probably not what you are supposed to do, but I have put Henry to bed every single night since he was born except for maybe 3 or 4 nights so we have our routine and it really is a special time for us. Last night was the best. He and I were rocking with our faces a couple of inches apart, I was humming lullaby's, he had his soft little lovie man pulled up next to his face and we were just staring at each other. Then he started reaching towards my face, grabbing my nose and eyebrows, outlining my features, trying to grab my eye and my lips, and then his eyes closed and his arm slowly and softly started falling. Oh, my it was so sweet. I love my little guy and I'm so glad he is here.
Oh, and he is still obsessed with his big brother, Harrison. Harrison is always making Henry laugh.
