Baby Bunnies

I have been so caught up with my new 'studio' renovation project that I have neglected my blog for going on two weeks now. So, let's catch up!

Two weekends ago Matt and I were able to stay in town and spend the whole weekend at home! We had a rough start to the weekend. On Saturday morning Matt discovered a baby (newborn, we're talking palm-sized) bunny on our driveway. It was very hot that day, so we decided to pick him up and put him in the bushes to protect the little guy from the hot sun. Then a little bit later Matt discovered a disheveled nest under the camper with an even smaller bunny (alive) in the nest and another bunny (dead) to the side of the nest. We moved the first bunny back to the nest to reunite the siblings and hoped the mama bunny would soon return. Meanwhile, Matt buried the dead bunny (we think he was attacked by a cat). We checked on the little guys throughout the day, but saw no sign of mama bunny. The next morning the inevitable happened....Matt had to bury the 2 remaining bunnies. Using my medical knowledge, I believe the bunnies starved to death. Let's pause..........

Here is a picture of the bunnies pre-death.
